Sean Mullin

Sean Mullin is a policy leader with more than 20 years of experience working at the intersection of technology, economics and public policy.

Mullin served as Special Advisor for Economic Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office. In this role, he was the principal economic advisor to former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and led the design and launch of Canada's $2.4 billion Sovereign AI Compute Strategy.

Before entering government, he founded and grew the Brookfield Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship from a startup into a national innovation policy think tank. During his tenure, he raised more than $25 million, built a team of 25 professionals, and oversaw research on AI policy, technology adoption and inclusive growth.

Mullin has also held senior advisory roles in the Ontario Premier's Office, where he supported the development of billion-dollar budgets and managed complex, cross-cutting policy files.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Oxford University, a Master of Arts in Economics from McGill University, and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
