Dr. Harvey P. Weingarten

Dr. Harvey P. Weingarten is one of Canada’s most influential voices in higher education reform and workforce development. His career spans decades of work influencing how post-secondary institutions adapt to economic change, technology disruption and evolving workforce demands.

Dr. Weingarten has served as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calgary and as President and CEO of the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario, where he led major initiatives that modernized system performance, strengthened student success and improved accountability across the sector. He is Principal Emeritus of the Michener Institute of Education at the University Health Network and a Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute.

Earlier in his career, Weingarten held senior academic leadership roles at McMaster University. His work continues to advance the future of talent development, workforce readiness and disruptive models of education in Canada and beyond.
